Senior Data Manager
General Responsibilities
The vision of the senior manager is to act as an overseer of front office customer related data as follows:
        Error Detection & Correction – Achieve 10x improvement in data quality by using: comparisons against other internal / external data sources, data edit checks, and duplicate record removal to clean up stored data.
        Process Control & Improvement – Improve current data management processes 5x by using root cause analysis, statistical process control, and quality management for lasting data improvement at a reasonable long term cost.
        Process Design – Reengineer processes or information systems to make the new system/process as error proof as possible.This can be accomplished by redesigning data collection processes to include built-in data edit checks, data quality performance measures, automated transcription, data entry and format change activities that minimize the number of data handoffs. Help XXX realize significant long term improvement at a low long term cost.
Specific Responsibilities
The senor manager will have the following specific duties:
        Review data loaded into front office systems for accuracy.
        Implement maintenance enhancements to data acquisition processes to improve accuracy of customer data.
        Implement enhancements to systems of record to improve accuracy of operation data.
        Review referential integrity of front office customer data.
        Review historical integrity of front office customer data.
        Develop, document, promulgate, and maintain data quality goals and standards.
        Monitor compliance of information flows and data stores against data quality standards.
        Identify areas for data quality improvement and help to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.
        Measure and report to management on the progress of data quality improvement.  This may also include documenting the return on investment associated with improving data quality.
        Provide data quality training and consulting services to others in the organization.
Qualifications
        5 years technical consulting experience with MNCs. Applicable consulting or IT experience will be considered.
        BS or equivalent degree in Engineering or Computer Science. MS preferred
        Technical Experience. Extensive experience in one or more of the following areas:
        Technical implementation of Data Integration, ERP, SCM, CRM, Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse or database software.
        Knowledge of integration tools, data management solutions, data cleansing tools, ETL tools are required. Knowledge of FirstLogic and/or Trillium highly desired.
        Thorough understanding of one or more of the following databases: Oracle, Informix, SQLServer, DB2, and Sybase. Experience in writing SQL, creating tables, importing data, exporting data, data transformations, inserts and updates.
        Broad understanding of OS platforms (NT, UNIX).
        Broad understanding of HTML, XML.
        Knowledge of ERP (SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle Apps), SCM (Manugistics, 12) or CRM (Siebel, PeopleSoft) applications (especially in the areas of data structures and integration technologies).
        Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (Bus Objects, Cognos, etc) preferred.
        Process Experience
        Certified Yellow, Green or Black belt in Six Sigma process improvement techniques
        Familiarity with standard statistical packages and analysis techniques
        Have the ability to identify and describe the complex interplay between technology and organizational structure
        Be able to manage the change process, to understand implications of data quality, to measure the cost and benefits of data quality, and to detect and correct errors in databases
        Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
        General Experience
        MUST be able to articulate a business justification for why a technology is deployed to solve a business challenge
        MUST be able to function in a largely independent manner with minimal supervision
        MUST be a fast, independent technology learner.
        MUST be able to ascertain and understand the business requirements and data implications
        MUST be highly organized, dependable, and capable of working in a “fast” paced environment
        MUST have demonstrated ability to proactively/effectively work with sales, sales operations and marketing functions as a cohesive team
