How to be a professional business analyst?

Business analyst is a title covers a wide range of jobs known for being highly skilled. It can be business expert, consultant, quantitative analyst, IT engineer(business systems analyst), etc..Business analysts always play a role as a bridge between academics and business,  between clients and developers, between models and profits. So how to be a successful business analyst?

A Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing the business needs of their customers (small to large businesses) and coming up with solutions to business problems. And making more profits is the purpose of the analysis.
[b:24dsvqbo]Cooperate with others [/b:24dsvqbo]
Every analyst has the field he or she is good at, and the field he or she is not good at. Meanwhile, every analyst is also a node linked with other nodes in business processes.

Most people do not know what the models you build are, so a business analyst must have the abilities to explain Why you build these models, How they come out, What the results will be, etc..And during the project, a business analyst should interact with clients , project managers, and software developers consistently to meet the Business Requirements.

A computer programmer can not read analysis results without statistics knowledge, a  statist can not really meet the business needs without economic ideas, and an econometrician often fails in prediction due to the lack of behavioral analysis.

Business modeling is quite different from academic modeling. Despite the profits-oriented target of business modeling, the most difference is business modeling is time-limited, unlike academic research.

Lots of business analysts are project managers themselves. They are good at not only administration but also project management. Sometimes they must make decisions by balancing interests of all aspects.

A creative idea today, may be the trend tomorrow. During the routine analysis, there is always a flash thought. Business analysts grow it, cultivate it, and apply it into business where appropriate.
