[b:23ons415]Analytical Consultant [/b:23ons415]

As a member of Advanced Analytics and Optimization Services group affiliated with the SAS Advanced Analytics R&D Division, you will provide analytical expertise and support for SAS field engagements in China with a specific focus on one of the following verticals – manufacturing, financial services and telecommunication. The primary duties will be to model and solve analytical business problems for SAS customers, implement these solutions effectively using SAS analytical tools and solutions. You will be working alongside local SAS presales and consulting staff on these engagements. Training and high level direction and technical assistance for engagements will be provided by the group leadership based in the company headquarters in Cary, NC, USA.

Expertise in analytical concepts and methodology in the one or more of the following areas - quality control, forecasting, data mining and operations research - is a primary pre-requisite for this position. Demonstrated ability and experience in applying these analytical methods to business problems in industry is also essential. You will be expected to acquire and maintain a high level of expertise in the capabilities of the SAS analytical tools and solutions related to your area of work. Frequent travel to SAS customer sites should be expected.

Master's degree in statistics, applied mathematics, industrial engineering or related quantitative discipline
Demonstrated expertise in terms of education and practical experience in quality control, forecasting, data mining or operations research
At least 2 years of industrial/professional consulting experience involving implementations of statistical and/or other analytical methods
Additional
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to communicate with people of various technical and business backgrounds
Ability to explain analytical concepts effectively to business users
Experience with analytical programming environment such SAS, Matlab etc. or lower level languages such as C, C++ or Java.

Formal analytical consulting experience.
Significant domain knowledge in manufacturing, financial services or telecommunications.
